Sun Medical Co., Ltd. was founded in 1981 as a joint venture of Mitsui
Petrochemical Industries, Ltd. ("Mitsui"*, presently Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.) and Nissin Dental
Products, Inc.("Nissin")* to launch the innovative Super-Bond,
a dental adhesive system based on 4-META/MMA-TBB. The invention of 4-META/TBB was a breakthrough
in the dental field, enabling bonding to teeth (both enamel and dentin) as well as metals. Since
its introduction Sun Medical has been focusing on high-technology products developed through intensive R&D activities, supported by close collaboration with academic and clinical societies. We have also been working to reinforce our quality management system and it has been approved according to ISO9001:2000, ISO13485:1996 and MDD.
